Nudie Secures First ‘Official Circular Partner’

Nudie Jeans named ACS as its U.K. circularity partner.  

Self-described “textile longevity specialists,” ACS , short for Advanced Clothing Solutions, supports what brands are doing with rental fulfillment and clothing renewal—the latter being core to the Swedish denim brand’s mission to keep jeans in rotation for longer by offering free repair services mending its organic cotton jeans for customers.

ACS’s repair capabilities will be Nudie’s first remote repair service that directly supports the repair teams in the Nudie Jeans Repair Shops. The company’s skilled warranty repair specialists are trained to renew damaged non-usable returns to pre-owned clothing that can be transformed to like-new condition, said Chris Mooney, ASC Clothing’s chief revenue officer.

“Our specialty at ACS is extending the life of textiles which ultimately diverts fashion waste from landfill and provides brands and retailers with an additional revenue stream,” he said. “Keeping fashion textiles in circulation for longer is the backbone of what we do at ACS, and this partnership with Nudie Jeans is a perfect example of sustainable fashion in action.”

Nudie restored 42,500 jeans in 2021 through its own in-store repair shops and its integrated repair partner concept, in which wholesale partners are given the opportunity to participate in its circular activities. Repair partners are equipped with the same sewing machines and sets of tools as Nudie’s own Repair Shops to carry out the same services.

The brand’s goal is to have 50 permanent repair touch points, including repair shops, partner stores and repair partners by 2030.

Ben Lundberg, Nudie supply chain manager, said the partnership with ACS enables the company to double down on “our promise of free repairs forever by increasing the number of quality repairs that we can do.” He hopes the new partnership makes it easier for customers keep their favorite jeans in rotation longer before trading them in for a discount.
