PG Denim’s Paolo Gnutti Applies Luxury Look to Isko Fabrics

A new collaboration showcases the luxury appeal of denim.

Turkish denim mill Isko teamed with PG Denim founder Paolo Gnutti to create Isko Luxury by PG—Born to Amaze, a capsule collection combining popular fabric franchises like Isko Scratch + Jean and Isko Cosy with Gnutti’s high-end approach to fabric product development.

Geared to the premium and luxury markets, the collection debuted last week at Denim Premiere Vision in Berlin.

“The collaboration with Isko is exciting on so many levels because together we can really take the premium sector to the next level thanks to the company’s pioneering and game-changing technologies,” Gnutti said. “As a result, luxury aesthetic will feature new and exclusive fabrics that will bring a unique twist to the world of fashionable luxury denim.”

Divided into seven concepts, including understated elegance, logo mania and rock ‘n’ roll influences, Gnutti’s designs reflects the various aesthetics being explored in high-end collections and the capabilities of Isko’s Creative Room, a division devoted to streamlined and simplified solutions from fabric to finished garment.

In Denim Addicted, head-to-toe denim looks are reimagined with “revised volume” and details.

Rugged Re-Made applies sustainable technologies to Japanese workwear and historical garments. Fabrics look rigid but have a soft, worn-in hand feel.

Bounder Glam centers on leather effects inspired by “bikers’ unapologetic style” with cutouts, oversized silhouettes and lace-up constructions packing a punch. For Moto’roll, Gnutti looked to ’60s and ’70s biker style and experimented with animal-like surfaces. A standout item is a jean with a stingray-inspired surface.

The collection also offers stage-worthy concepts like the ones Manon Mangin, Première Vision’s denim product manager, highlighted in her Fall/Winter 2023-2024 trend forecast at the show.
