Artistic Fabric & Garment Industries Awarded LEED Silver Certification

Artistic Fabric & Garment Industries (AFGI) announced Tuesday that its new Pakistan facility had been awarded LEED Silver certification for its efforts in making the denim manufacturing process more sustainable.

AFGI’s certification is only one facet of the company’s holistic approach to sustainability, which includes reducing water usage, “green” garment finishes, and fabrics made from post-consumer waste clothing and plastic bottles.

Two additional facilities are also currently in the process of being certified by LEED.

“We are proud that shortly after getting GRS certification for our Recycling plant, we have now been awarded LEED Certification for one of our flagship garment factories,” says Hasan Javed, AFGI executive director. “AFGI continues to take tangible steps towards reducing our carbon footprint and in moving towards a greener future with the strength of our vertical setup.”
